Should I let a male cat come mate with my female cat?

My girlfriend’s family has a male cat. Myfemale cat is in heat. They have never met. I would like to mate her with this male cat, cause they would produce the most adorable kittens.

It usually takes a few days for cats to get acquainted. But the male cat’s owners want to neuter him and my cat may be done ovulating soon.

my cat has passed every sign, from enlarged abdomen to excessive eating to pink-enlarged nipples…. she eats 2 days worth in a day and still wants more, is she supposed to stop this behavior a few days before the arrival? The eating excessively has been going on for a week now, becoming more visible everyday! please give me an estimate and pictures if you could…. Thanks D

Is my cat sick? (some squeamish people may not want to look at these pictures)?

I don’t want to go to the vet if I’m just over-reacting. These wounds haven’t gotten any bigger throughout today. I’ve just noticed them today and they were fresh earlier. The blood was still wet. There is one on her hind leg and one identical to it on her diagonal front leg.

What I want to know is:

1.) Is this something I should take her to the vet for immediately? Or is it better to wait a few days to see if things get worse?

2.) Should I bandage these up, and if so, how?

花ちゃん (pronounced Hana-chan) is only 9 months old. She is a tabby kitten. No sudden changes in her diet. She hasn’t had any other weird behavior. She’s her regular rambunctious self. She is constantly running around. There is a possibility that she scraped her limbs on chair legs, counter edges, or anything like that. I have not found any fur or cat skin anywhere yet though, and I have looked.

NOTE:: I also have NOT seen her biting, gnawing, or scratching at all, and I’ve been watching her like a hawk ALL day.
To answer your question about if it smells, it does not smell any different than the rest of her. She is a good smelling cat. She however, did not like me pinning her down to smell it, haha!

Is it alright to use warm salt water, even if I’m not sure if it’s an infection or a scrape?
Also no other liquid is leaking from it, it’s dry and not bleeding any more. I can’t tell if it’s warm. My hands are so cold, that everything feels warm to me right now. And it doesn’t seem to hurt her if I touch, press, or rub it. At least, she doesn’t jerk away or anything. But she’s really trusting when she’s around me any way. I can push her over and knock her down and she will just pur and pur until I pet her. Haha. She’s an awesome laid back kitten.

I should probably check my other cat and keep them separate for now, shouldn’t I?
WELL I THINK IT’S AN INFECTION AND SHE DOES NEED A VET!!! I was looking through pictures, like an idiot, I know. Looking for anything on her leg or arm. On the same leg, from January 3rd, I can see a tiny red scab in the same spot. It is definitely getting bigger, and I just didn’t notice it before. I need to take her to a vet tomorrow. That’s just what has to be done. It probably is ring worms. Every article I’ve seen looks the same. I guess it’s good I caught it this early. I’ve seen some terrible cats with it all over them in those pictures online. I will be choosing a best answer as soon as it lets me.

why does it hurt so bad to lose a pet?

my favorite cat had 6 kittens about 4 months ago,one died the same day it was born and all the others died about 2 months later and im still very upset about losing them,not really the first kitten since i didnt get to spend time with it,but the last 5 it was hard,

expecialy this one kitten *my favorite* he was my baby he was always by my side everywhere i went he followed and he even slept with me…

im not sure why they died they just got sick and within a few days they died,my mom wouldnt take them to a vet since we couldnt aford it:(

but my question is,is it normal to still miss pets after 2 months of them being gone? i have pictures of me and my favorite kitten and everytime i look at it i want to cry…:(

Kitten Swollen Eye W/ Green Pus. Picture and Video included.?

I’ve been taking care of a mama cat’s babies on my patio and one of them recently showed up with an eye swollen shut.
They never really leave the patio but the one time the kitten left for a few hours and when she came back it was swollen shut.
I have become attached to these cats and I hope it would be possible to take care of her on my own but if she doesn’t heal by tomorrow I’m taking her to the vet and leaving her there (I have no money to pay for it)

Well I’ve been cleaning it with a warm washcloth for a few days now an just today I noticed while cleaning it some green pus squirted out of her eye.

I have a reference picture and video of her.

If you look at the picture you can see a red bump on the kittens lip too. Which also showed up at the same time.

I just want to get some advice to take care of her before taking her to the vet so hopefully the swelling will go down OR if you know what could be wrong with her I would love to know.

Her eye was completely closed before I took this picture and she always opens it after I clean it.

Also, although they live outside if you notice in the video there is a blanket laying down and a light coming from the side of it. We made a little dome type thing with a heat lamp to keep them warm.

I just brought her in to keep her away from all of the dust n such.
I’m going to have to put her back outside before I go to bed because she isn’t litter box trained but she’s sleeping nicely in my lap :]

What should I do with the stray kittens I found..?

I found three adorable, stray kittens in front of my house a few days ago. They hang around the bench and in my front yard which I don’t mind at all. I left out bit of ham and bologna and cup of water for them. They are wary of me and are scared if I make any sudden movements or if I go towards them. My neighbor kid told me today that that there is a mother cat with some kittens down the street.

Should I just leave the kittens be and let the mother find them? Should I bring the kittens to the mother myself? (I’m not sure how I could do that since that cats run off if I make any sort move towards them.) Or should I call my local animal shelter?

I’m also thinking about maybe keeping one of the kittens as a pet if they start to get used to me. Is that a good idea since it’s a stray?

Any advice or suggestions?

I’m getting a kitten in a few days, and she’ll be the first pet I ever have. So if I could just have some advice on everything… Things such as: how to pick a vet, what food to feed her, what liquids to give her, her bedding and sleeping stuff, vaccinations, shedding, clawing… You get the picture!
Anyways, if anyone could help me, it’d be very very appreciated! It’s my first pet, and she’s just a little two month old kitten!

Kitten who just seems odd/off?

Yes he has a vet. I pay the vets car payment ( or seriously close to it ) every month so don’t think he hasn’t been. Vet says "he’s a little different, leave him alone." She doesn’t live with him and his "oddness" bothers me. He’s a hand fed, Mommy worries.
Carmel is four months old. I got him from the engine block of a truck, in October, nearly dead. He is now the picture of health but I think he may be a "bit off?" You tell me what you think.
I have several other cats. Though Carmel has been here since he was just a few days old none of them will have anything to do with him, at all, and normally they are very social my cats, even with strange animals. They look at him like he has three eyes and avoid him like he’s a retard or something. And he makes no effort to have anything to do with them either.
He plays fetch. As long as he can see what he’s fetching he plays, but if he loses sight of it it’s over, it’s as if he has limited comprehension. If the ball goes under something or around a chair leg he won’t go after it once he loses sight of it. You go and get it, he goes nuts for it when he sees it again. When you leave the room and immediately come back he runs to you as if he hasn’t seen you in days but he won’t go looking for you in another room. Just as with fetching, if he loses sight of you, you’re just gone, the end. His bowl has to be in the same spot always, and it has to be the same bowl, or he doesn’t eat. He only eats one brand of kitten food or he doesn’t eat, literally, and he eats nothing else. No table food, nothing. I’ve tested this. I put down four bowls containing cat food, all different, he goes right for that same bowl every time. If I put down four different kinds of food, he goes to his normal food every time. But if his bowl is gone and HIS food is gone he walks around and screams, and he eats nothing..I have let him do this for a full 18 hours…and he will not eat.
Loud noises don’t affect him, never have. He will sit ON the vaccum cleaner or the shampooer. If something heavy hits the floor behind him he doesn’t flinch. I have never seen him startled by anything, ever. For the longest time we thought he was def. And when you call him, unless he can see you, he will not come. You can call him from another room all day long, rattle the food bag, whatever…no response at all. And he only responds to me, period. He sleeps with me, follows my feet, sits on me, etc… Other family members he just doesn’t even seem to notice. They call him, nothing. They try to play with him, nothing. They pick him up, he squirms and runs.
I’ve had a lot of cats in 39 years. I’ve had a lot of cats who were spoiled and God knows I’m good at spoling them. But I’ve got a DAY ONE hand fed who, though she’s completely rotten, doesn’t act this way.
Last but not least is his size and his eyes. He is super tiny, has been since I got him. He’s stocky but short and petite. Vet says he is the size of a normal 6 to 8 week old by her calculations. His eyes JUST started changing color from that pretty blue about a month ago, at 12 weeks. Now, they are grey…absolutely, solid grey, like gun metal grey….and they reflect funny. When light is reflected in his eyes, whereas most cats eyes flash green or yellow, his are no color at all, it’s just as if you’re seeing an opague lens.
He’s got to go to his vet Tuesday because I keep harping about these things and because he needs shots and a check-up. Give me some ideas to bounce off of my vet. Have you ever experienced any of these things with any of yours? Do you know of any way to test cats for such things as comprehension skills, hearing, etc?

Sick 6 wk old kitten PLEASE help. Was dehydrated, now acting blind, dizzy. What could it be?

I got a 6 week old Siamese kitten a week ago (he is now about 7 weeks). He wasn’t eating the food the breeder suggested. We assumed it was because he was too young, so we bought him kitten formula. He vomited profusely from that (every half hour throughout the night for a total of 6 or 7 times). The following day, I made sure to give him plenty of water, and he seemed to be doing better til that night. He became really weak and lethargic, so we took him to the emergency vet. They drew blood to do feline leukemia tests, put sub-q fluids under his skin, and force fed him some canned food and formula. The whole ordeal REALLY stressed him out. He hid on my shoulder in my hair for the entire hour drive home and was floppy and lethargic and slept ALL the next day. I didn’t think he was going to live through it. We kept forcing him KMR formula every hour/2 hours with a dropper, and he slowly regained his strength. For the past few days, he’s been doing a bit better. He’ll walk around and investigate my other cat for maybe 10-15 mins a day, then the rest of the time he is asleep on my lap, or my mom’s lap, or my dad’s lap, you get the picture. I thought he was just really affectionate, but now I’m worried that something is seriously wrong. He is just too mellow for a kitten- he sleeps ALL the time. And we’ve tried offering him 4 different kinds of canned food and tuna, and he was not interested in any of it. He will barely drink out of a bowl, so we are still dropper-feeding him.
And just now, I put him down to prep his formula and he is acting like he can’t see or is very dizzy. He doesn’t even want to stand up on his own. He just lays down wherever I put him. His pupils are really dilated, he doesn’t fix his focus on anything, his head just bobs, he’ll take a couple wobbly steps and fall over.
Did he just somehow lose his eyesight? Is it seizures? Is it a result of the dehydration? I have NO idea what to think. I’m reluctant to take him back to the same emergency vet because I wasn’t happy with everything they put him through, and my local small town vet is closed.

Any advice would be SO appreciated. I’m sorry this is so long, I just wanted to paint as clear a picture as possible so that he can maybe be diagnosed.
