Pooch Saves 4 Kittens from fire

ANCHOR: Over down under in Australia, a dog with a heart of gold risked it’s own life to protect four newborn kittens from a fire. The Jack Russell Cross is named Leo, and this is his story: STORY: Leo the plucky Jack Russel Cross guarding what’s left of the family home in Melbourne, Australia the day after his heroics. It was ablaze when firefighters dodged fallen power lines to reach him and four newborn kittens he had refused to leave. Firefighters carried him out in the nick of time, reviving him with oxygen and heart massage. [Ken Brown, Metropolitan Fire Brigade]: “Leo wouldn’t leave the kittens and it nearly cost him his life.” An 11-year-old girl suffered smoke inhalation as she made her escape. She was at home with her mother, a five-year-old sister and 18-year-old brother when the fire started in the front room. Firefighters managed to rescue everyone. And thanks to Leo, the kittens haven’t used up any of their nine lives.

Animals have emotion, so do humans… Its just that most humans use the bad side of emotions lolz.

who said animals are emotionless? ive never heared that. They are pure emotions. They feel all of the same emotions, for all of the same reasons, exactly the same way–with the same neurotransmitters. Hell, all of the human antidepressants and recreational drugs work exactly as well for non human animals–since humans are just animals, too!

He didn’t save them, the firemen did.

If the firemen had not arrived in time, the dog would have just burned up with the cats.

I could see calling the dog a hero if it went in and carried the kittens to saftey, but no, the dog was probly just terrifed just like the cats and had no idea what to do.

@TheStarJuggler I find it more likely that it felt the need to protect them (not being able to other than staying with them and most likely barking or whimpering). Cos believe me, that dog would hav NO problems running away if it had been alone and the house had caught on fire. Any animal capable of getting out of a house will do so purely by instinct, unless it is forced or feels a need to stay.
