My large male cat has been letting my kittens basically use his man-nipples as pacifiers. They’re over 8 weeks old and weaned…or at least they were. I don’t guess there’s anything wrong with it, but is it "normal"? Have you ever seen it happen?
And if I get it on tape, should I send it to America’s Funniest Home Videos?
Oh, I would state in the video that it was a male cat. Of course.
We had a very loving male cat who did this for his sister’s babies. The mom was a very good mom, but he was just a sweetie, and would let the kittens crawl all over him and nurse on him, too. It was hilarious, and at first a little disconcerting! However, he would just purr and just be very loving to them. Of course, once he picked one up and kicked it up in the air to play with it, and that gave us a bit of a shock! He was just being a Super Uncle!

Its rare but somethimes male cats can produce milk. I know it has happened with male humans. it could just be a security blanket thing.
My male cat was extremely maternal.
About this time last year my parents had adopted a little kitten. She was just old enough to be adopted. My parents already had one cat (12 yrs. old at the time) and this new kitten did the same thing to him. My parents asked the vet about it and were told that it’s normal. In fact, my parents told me that the vet said that she’d had cats attach to her finger.
my kittens did the same thing, it’s relatively normal. but if you sent it to AFHV how would anyone know that the cat is male unless he’s got enormous genitals, so really it wouldn’t be that funny
I would imagine the kittens feel safe and secure with the male cat…I used to have kittens that thought my doberman was their mother because she would lay with them and play on her and wouldn’t let another animal near them.
yes i;ve seen it happen and it;s normal and I’m glad the male cat is being so patient with the little ones ‘ that;s great,And send it to most funny videos that;s something you don;t see everyday…
