Is my cat sick? (some squeamish people may not want to look at these pictures)?

I don’t want to go to the vet if I’m just over-reacting. These wounds haven’t gotten any bigger throughout today. I’ve just noticed them today and they were fresh earlier. The blood was still wet. There is one on her hind leg and one identical to it on her diagonal front leg.

What I want to know is:

1.) Is this something I should take her to the vet for immediately? Or is it better to wait a few days to see if things get worse?

2.) Should I bandage these up, and if so, how?

花ちゃん (pronounced Hana-chan) is only 9 months old. She is a tabby kitten. No sudden changes in her diet. She hasn’t had any other weird behavior. She’s her regular rambunctious self. She is constantly running around. There is a possibility that she scraped her limbs on chair legs, counter edges, or anything like that. I have not found any fur or cat skin anywhere yet though, and I have looked.

Here are pictures of what it looks like:

Thank you so much for your help!!! :D I help a lot of people out with their cats on here, so I’d appreciate any good help you can give me!
NOTE:: I also have NOT seen her biting, gnawing, or scratching at all, and I’ve been watching her like a hawk ALL day.
To answer your question about if it smells, it does not smell any different than the rest of her. :) She is a good smelling cat. She however, did not like me pinning her down to smell it, haha!

Is it alright to use warm salt water, even if I’m not sure if it’s an infection or a scrape?
Also no other liquid is leaking from it, it’s dry and not bleeding any more. I can’t tell if it’s warm. My hands are so cold, that everything feels warm to me right now. And it doesn’t seem to hurt her if I touch, press, or rub it. At least, she doesn’t jerk away or anything. But she’s really trusting when she’s around me any way. I can push her over and knock her down and she will just pur and pur until I pet her. Haha. :) She’s an awesome laid back kitten.

I should probably check my other cat and keep them separate for now, shouldn’t I?
WELL I THINK IT’S AN INFECTION AND SHE DOES NEED A VET!!! I was looking through pictures, like an idiot, I know. Looking for anything on her leg or arm. On the same leg, from January 3rd, I can see a tiny red scab in the same spot. It is definitely getting bigger, and I just didn’t notice it before. :( I need to take her to a vet tomorrow. That’s just what has to be done. It probably is ring worms. Every article I’ve seen looks the same. I guess it’s good I caught it this early. I’ve seen some terrible cats with it all over them in those pictures online. I will be choosing a best answer as soon as it lets me.

First off don’t cover the wounds as if infected the germ wont be able to drain out it will be absorbed by her body so would make her ill all vets avoid covering wounds if possible as fresh air helps with healing,

and if she has ringworm covering it would make it worse as fungus just loves warm dark areas so a bandaged infection would encourage it to get worse,

it looks like some sort of infection to me but can i ask you does it smell bad or of anything unusual? do they feel warm to touch? are they leaking any liquid besides the blood? other possibilities are friction burns,

it could well be ringworm if so treatment is important to avoid it spreading to the rest of her body,

if i knew it was a wound it would heal with cleaning it with warm salty water twice a day to avoid infections but without knowing what it is its best to let a vet have a look.

Added extra:Salt wouldnt harm in any way all it would do is not work if its the wrong treatment,it doesnt sound sore to her so salt may help but she will still need a vet as salt wont kill fungus infection.

I would go to the vet just to have peace of mind if its just a scratch then it will go away but as another person mentioned it could be a parasite or worm. So difinatly see a vet or at least call the vet and explain the wound and see what they say to do.

Yes, this is serious. This would be ringworm. If not taken care of immediately, then it may worsen and they may have to put her to sleep. Take your cat to a vet to determine finely because a picture can’t tell everything. Read about ringworm here:

I had a male cat 8 years ago that had wounds like that on his neck. My husband took it to the vet and he phoned me to tell me what was wrong. You know what he said to me? He told me I’d better look for houses because my male cat was going to be a mommy. Apparently female cats can get a hormonal imbalance that causes a skin irritation. Moral of the story- Don’t believe anybody but a vet on what gender your cat is. My cat is 9 years old now and the light in my life
