I live out in the country and I’ve noticed these two 10-11 week old kittens and their mom hanging around my house. I felt soo bad for them so I started putting food out infront of my house which they’ve come to eat almost every day. I can get pretty close to them sometimes, but other times I can’t. I’ve taken pictures of them and everything and a couple days ago I saw them outside sleeping soo I went outside to.. trying to get close to them and I ended up sitting 5 feet away from them watching them sleep, play and eat the food I brought over with me. I’m sure the mom sort of trusts me but I’m not sure about the kittens. Like, they have places to hide and stay warm i think and they look fairly healthy, but I can’t to be to sure. Winters comming soon and it’s starting to get cold. Should I try and catch these kittens? If I do I want to catch the mom to because one of the kittens seems to still be pretty attatched to her. Plus I don’t want to seperate them. I’m not sure if they’d survive the winter. Or would they be fine throughout the winter?? I’ve grown so attached to these kittens and the mom that I don’t want them to get hurt er anything there. Please, please, please let me know what you think!
Sounds like your doing everything right!! Just keep doing what your doing and you may be able to pet them soon. But do not catch them the first week you are able to pet them…just wait…and if it does get cold no worries they should be fine. =) I hope you catch them soon!! Good luck.
BRING THEM IN! if they’re like that, they won’t make it. get cadges that close when something goes in it, put food way in the back, and when you get them bring them inside, give them some nice warm milk, and some food. they love it!
you can try trapping them yourself, but you’re better off calling animal control.
