How to Take Great Kitten Pictures
Taking great kitten pictures is really no different than taking photos of any baby animal – as if that is really easy?!? Well, it's easier if you adhere to a few simple things:
First, you want to make sure you get down on the kitten's level – yes, this will really help. It helps to expand and capture the true persona of the kitten – when you are high above, he is a little pet. When you are on his level, he is his own being. You want him to be life-like.
Second, RELAX!. Kittens, like all of God's creatures, are extremely sensitive to the 'mood' in the air. If you are tense, they are going to be tense. If you are relaxed, they are going to be relaxed.
Third, Lower your expectations. If you have never taken pictures of Kittens or any baby animals before, keep in mind that it rarely is perfect the first time out. The more you do it, the better you will become. The main thing is to just have fun and go with the flow.
Fourth, Make sure your kitten is comfortable. How is the temperature? Is he hungry? Etc. You don't want to be fighting things that your kitten cannot possibly control.
Fifth, Think like a kitten! Try to image the photo shoot experience through his eyes. Is it boring for him? Is it stimulating? Is it too stimulating? You have to engineer the environment so that it's the right balance for whatever you are trying to get your kitten to do.
Six, Watch the time. Remember, a kitten is a little baby, with a very short tolerance for anything. Get everything prepared before you bring your little ball of fur on stage. Don't keep him on stage for too long of a period of time. It's better to due multiple shoots rather than one long one.
If you adhere to these things, it will make your kitten photo session a much more enjoyable experience. And remember, above all, have lots of fun and help your kitten to have fun.
Please submit any cute kitten pictures and I will be glad to post them for you – It's FREE and fun!
