From my experience with cats, I find it hard to understand how people get 5 or 6 cats to pose for a picture, all spooning in a row, like on this website: http://blogs.catster.com/the-cats-meow-a-cat-and-kitten-blog/thursday-13-thirteen-cute-spooning-cats/2009/08/05/ . I am definitely a cat person, and I have seen the behavior of many different cats and kittens. Now I know this is cynical of me, but I could only imagine getting them to lay there so peacefully if the cats were drugged, or if they were dead. I understand the cat spooning a person, and even just two cats spooning, because my 2 cats will sometimes do that. But 5 or 6 in a row like that? Im just curious to see if anyone has ever seen cats that were that tolerant of each other in large quantities. Or, if anyone shares my suspicions.

Yes… if you have more than one they tend to do that especially in the winter.
Here are my pets doing the same thing
Through a series of events, ranging from pregnant strays and wolf worm infected kittens and just about everything in between. I currently own 8 cats and 2 dogs. That number of animals can exist happily with one another and yes, I have see 3+ plus cuddle or show affection to one another. No, I have not seen seen all eight at it. The biggest instigator is usually my youngest dog, who took a motherly attitude to the younger cats, several of them will start loving on her, but some of the cats have spooned with both of my dogs. I really think it depends on the personality of the cats, the youngest cats and one of the older cats who is still a kitten at heart, the three of them at the most likely to be seen together. Also, cold weather helps, lol
I have 3 cats and they all lie peacefully together like that every night at bed time. I don’t think it’s that unusual.
i’ve seen cats do that but only on their own. i just don’t understand how they get them to do that on command.
