Do you think my kitten might be part bengal?

I think he might be…. We got him from our vet, whose husband had found him in the basement of a new house he was building. They said his eyes hadn’t even opened yet, so he was just a day or two old. It was him and his sister. We adopted him and thought his markings were so cute. But from the minute we got him home, he’s been CRAZY! He’s just under 4 months old, was neutered at about 10 weeks and he’s insane. Our other kitten is 5 months old, spayed, and she’s so chill and sweet. This one (Harley) tears the house apart and he can jump, I kid you not, like 4 feet in the air– and he only weighs 4 lbs.

He’s definitely a tabby, but we think he might be mixed with bangal because he also has spots. Here are some pics. One of his belly, and the other of the rest of him.

He looks different colors in both pictures, but it’s b/c they’re in different lighting. It’s the same cat. Thanks.
Yeah, mine is a wannabe hunter. It will chase anything that moves lol.

Hi Mrs. J… many tabbies with various ancestry have coat patterns which can include a spotted appearance in their coats as well as various types of markings and colourations. (e.g. ticking, marbled, striped, patches…etc).

Nonetheless, your kitty is quite handsome! He’s obviously is an energetic kitten which isn’t uncommon with tabbies…they either can be easy going or high energy.

He could be part serval. We have a serval mix female and she has spots on her stomach and has strips and swirls in her fur. Servals tend to be quite crazy and active and naturally jump high. Kali sure does! Kali looks like a small serval with tomcat ears. Serval mixes that are quite mixed have the body of a regular tomcat and the markings and behavior of a regular serval. Good luck with your new kitty.

    Here’s a link to Kali’s catchannel.com profile:

If you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page there are some additional pics of Kali besides her main pic. :)

    EDIT:
Kali has less stripes then a common serval mix. Yours (if he is) seems to have the common amount. :)

I have a cat in my lap right now that looks nearly identical to yours. She was born to a stray/wild cat of my aunt and uncle. She has stripes on her top and sides and spots on her belly. She is definetely a hunter and will bring us many ‘presents’ regularly. She loves to be outdoors, as well as her sister who is calico, but she also likes to be around us. She was a bit wild in the beginning but did calm down nicely .I think sometimes, if you get enough cats mixed in, they get some interesting markings and as far as the behavior, maybe tomcats are naturally rowdier. My friend had a boy cat once who would jump ridiculously high when he chased paper. (And weirdly enough, he brought it back and fetched it over and over.)
