‘Doll face’ Persian kittens are a variation of the Persian kitten that looks more natural and perhaps more human than the regular Persian. Persian kittens originated from Persia (now Iran) many hundreds of years ago and have slowly risen to becoming the most popular species in the United States today. The doll-face Persian is the cat you are most likely to see in films or in adverts for children’s toys – it is a short and stocky cat with long fluffy hair that seems to have some features very similar to a human’s. From some catteries, you can expect to spend hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars for a pedigree doll-face Persian due to their highly sought-after looks. They are sometimes seen with celebrities as fashion kittens due to their gorgeous faces and because of the large variety of fur colors available – easy to match with any dress.
Personality-wise, these cats are sweet and gentle-natured, but will gain confidence in a home that provides it with love and opportunity to develop into a strong personality. They are not as active as some breeds of cat, and will much prefer to stay on the ground rather than climb at great heights to seek adventure. Their mew is much more pleasant than the majority of cats; sometimes a mew can ‘grate’ on one’s ears, but any kitten of Persian descent produces a lovely sound that could be described as being like a lullaby it is so soft.
Their gorgeous, and delicate, long hair does take a lot of caring for to avoid getting it tangled and dirty, therefore it is best to keep these kittens indoors where they cannot roll around in the mud, or get their fur trapped in the various obstacles that are out there. Keeping it indoors will also protect it from cars, preparatory cats and other animals.
