Cat Boarding – Quick Tips
Cats, being the independent souls that they are able to left at home, unattended, for a couple days at a time. However, there comes a time when a family wants to go on a more extended vacation or trip – enter the Cattery. Cats, in general, are very adaptable, however, in order to reduce your stress in leaving your favorite feline and theirs, there are some simple steps that should be considered.
Make sure you visit the boarding facility during normal operating hours without an appointment.
Keep your nose open when visiting – does the facility smell clean?
Does the cattery have easy access to a vet during off-hours in the event of an emergency?
When visiting, make sure you talk with various members of the staff to see if they have adequate cat-car knowledge.
If your kitty has special dietary requirements, make sure that the cattery can accommodate you.
Are there hidden charges – make sure you ask very detailed questions about this – like for grooming services, extra play time, medication administration, etc.
